I have always loved going to fleemarkets to make a bargain, however these last few years I have realised how wonderful vintage Christmas decorations are. They do break more easily, yet the quality is often breathtaking.
These baubles for example are manmade - not massproduced. Somewhere in Sweden a man sat there and made these by hand (or mouth rather). For me to pick them up at the local charity shop for almost nothing, was a lucky strike indeed!
My daughter is very fond of baking and last year we really got going on the Christmas cookiebaking tradition making all kinds of traditional Scandinavian cookies. Naturally these had to be stored in vintage cake tins!
